MilSpouseFest is coming to the National Capital Region

While military spouses span six different service branches, there are few opportunities for all spouses to come together in one place. Enter MilSpouseFest.

Presented by USAA, MilSpouseFest hosts a comprehensive event in the National Capital Region that is free for all military spouses to attend. “Did you know that MSF hasn’t been in the National Capital Region since 2017?” said MSF Director Julie Shepard. “Many military spouses cycle through this region, and we know that they will spread the good word about all the resources shared at our events.”

This year’s event theme is Unite and Ignite. “Military spouses often feel disconnected from their local communities. As we consider the impact of the pandemic, our team wanted to focus on bringing everyone together, and the theme Unite & Ignite was born,” said Shepard.

The events will feature targeted resources, information, and speakers relevant and timely to the military spouse community, which can help military spouses focus on what’s important to them. The keynote speaker for all event days is Jaime Chapman, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of the Military Spouse Chamber of Commerce. Chapman will also be a part of the ever-popular Building Connections panel, where questions from the crowd are answered.

In honor of the Month of the Military Child, Dr. Becky Porter, President and CEO of the Military Child Education Coalition will deliver a special message exclusive for MilSpouseFest attendees. Military Child Education Coalition will have an exhibitor booth at the events.

Resource exhibitors in attendance will include Tutor.com, an all-event sponsor, and military support organizations that focus on spouses, families, and the military community. Check out the list of exhibitors in Whova.

Exclusive to our Springfield, VA location, MilSpouseFest is pleased to offer free professional headshots to our attendees. “The number one issue for military spouses is employment, and having a professional headshot can elevate an application or LinkedIn profile,” said Shepard.

MilSpouseFest will be in two locations. Two events will occur in Springfield, VA, on April 26th at 9 am and 5 pm, and one day at Bowie, MD, on April 28th at 9:30 am with the option to attend in-person or virtually. Spouses can register here.

Check out our new mobile-friendly app, Whova, to engage with other spouses and join a carpool before the event. We have lots of great prizes to give away, including our most requested item, our super soft event T-shirt! (Must be present to win).

Spouses interested in attending the Unite and Ignite 2022 events can check on the MilSpouseFest website for more details and follow MilSpouseFest on social media. MSF invites all interested military spouses to join our MilSpouseFest Community Facebook group to be the first to get exclusive content and to be in the know about all things MilSpouseFest.
