I am one of those transitioning veterans who failed to do my homework, start networking and seek out post military employment several months prior to my retirement. I had to swallow some pride; realizing I wasn't going to walk out the door and into a similar role making the same amount of money. Nope, I had to start from the bottom and prove myself all over again. The journey became a lot clearer and bumps in the road a lot easier to navigate once I accepted that and pressed ahead.
