You know that moment during deployment where it feels like you just can’t make it another second? Maybe it’s because life sucker-punched you right when there was a comm blackout. Maybe it’s because it’s really hard to solo-parent. Maybe it’s another reason that makes deployment hard. Or maybe you just hit the deployment wall for no other reason than you miss your partner.
Whatever your personal reason for slamming against the deployment wall, here’s what it feels like to face-plant into it:
1. Sometimes, you obsess over just how much deployment sucks. Because it does suck. A lot.
2. And sometimes you are just super, super angry and everything and anything and everybody
3. Sometimes you need to go out but you really don’t want to see anyone you know, because. . . depressing deployment wall
4. When it feels like everything awful is just piling on
5. And sometimes you just need a really embarrassing, good cry
6. When someone approaches you with that “blah-blah-blah deployment will go fast” nonsense. . . and you feel like you’re drowning
7. And finally, when deployment is over, you can’t help but feel like this:
