MilSpouseFest welcomed a Texas-sized crowd to San Antonio and Fort Cavazos events

MilSpouseFest returned to Texas for another sold-out week of events for military spouses and family members. Presented by USAA, the events featured engaging speakers, numerous resource exhibitors, laughs with military spouse comedian Ashley Gutermuth, amazing food, and networking opportunities.

“Such an amazing event,” said one San Antonio attendee. “It was so nice to feel appreciated and supported by a community of people who want to see Milspouses succeed. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, and you can tell so much time, care and thought was put into choosing speakers to cover all bases of where we need the most support. This was my first MilSpouseFest and I already can’t wait for next year! Thank you for all that you do!”

Two events took place at San Antonio’s premiere event venue, The Veranda, which included a daytime event and an AFTER HOURS event. One event was hosted at the Marriott in Killeen for Fort Cavazos families. Each day of events included an all-star cast of speakers and military spouse comedian Ashley Gutermuth.

The agenda included a Journey to Entrepreneurship panel with Chuck Bunch (Relationship Director, Military Advocacy Group, USAA), Jen Pilcher (MilSpouseFest Founder and Client Partner, Recurrent Ventures), and Samantha Domingo (President, The KEY Community). Dr. Melanie Beahm (Founder/CEO of Grief Talks Hope Answers) talked to attendees about how to get out of a rut when you feel stuck.

Other segments included information from Tutor.com, Elizabeth Dole Foundation, Military Spouse Jobs, AAFMAA’s SpouseLink, Military by Owner, and the Goode Show Podcast.

“This was such a great event,” said another San Antonio attendee. “I learned about some resources (even after 15 years of this military lifestyle) that I did not know about. I would definitely recommend this event to others and hope there will be one near our next duty station.”

The MSF events got some media attention from local news channels, including KENS5 and the Killeen Daily Herald.

“We know what it means to serve,” Chuck Bunch told the Killeen Daily Herald. “Military spouses are the leaders and unsung heroes in our households, and it is an honor to be able to support them. They are the glue that keeps families together.”

“It was a very informative event and as a first-time participant, I was pleased to network with others in our military community,” said one Fort Cavazos attendee. “I wish there were more activities like this!”

MilSpouseFest is heading to Las Vegas in November to host a special MSF AFTER HOURS event at the Military Influencer Conference. To secure your tickets to MIC, click here.

MSF will also be hosting the first ever virtual even for military spouses and families stationed in Korea, Japan, Hawaii and Guam. Check back on November 1 for the registration link.
